Speaking Body
Speaking Body:
Speaking Body is a solo performance and research project that explores the deep connection between body, voice, and inner experience. Born out of my own questions around expression, presence, and personal history, this work investigates how movement, breath, and vocal sound can come together to reveal what words often cannot.
The project focuses on how the voice emerges not just from the physical body, but also from emotion, memory, and internal awareness. Through somatic and choreographic exploration, I’ve developed a practice where the body leads, allowing sound to be shaped by sensation, energy, and lived experience.
At the heart of Speaking Body is a desire to explore voice as something more than a tool for communication. In performance, I work with stillness, improvisation, and breath to allow sound to surface naturally, as a raw, embodied expression of being. The result is a piece that invites the audience to witness presence in its most human form: vulnerable, shifting, and real.
This ongoing research continues to inform my creative practice. It sits at the intersection of performance, healing, and self-enquiry, blurring the lines between process and outcome, performer and person. Through it, I aim to create spaces where body and voice are free to speak their truth.
